Description

These crispy Baked Potato Wedges are a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional fries. Seasoned with a flavorful blend of spices and baked to golden perfection, they make a perfect easy side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 large russet potatoes, cut into wedges

Seasonings

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Potatoes: Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Cut each potato in half lengthwise, then slice each half into 3 to 4 wedges to create evenly sized pieces.
  3. Season Wedges: Place the potato wedges in a large bowl. Toss them with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using) until they are evenly coated with the spices.
  4. Arrange for Baking: Spread the seasoned wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, placing them skin side down and spacing them apart to ensure they crisp properly.
  5. Bake: Bake the wedges in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Flip the wedges halfway through the baking time to promote even browning and crispiness. Bake until they are golden brown on the outside and tender inside.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the wedges from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for color and flavor. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces such as ketchup or ranch dressing.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut potato wedges in cold water for 30 minutes, then pat them completely dry before seasoning and baking.
  • You can sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the wedges during the last 5 minutes of baking for added flavor.
  • Serve these wedges with ketchup, ranch dressing, or any dipping sauce of your choice to enhance the taste.
