Description

This Cheeseburger Bowl recipe features juicy ground beef cooked with onions and seasoned perfectly, served over chopped romaine lettuce and topped with fresh vegetables, shredded cheddar cheese, and a homemade Copycat Big Mac Sauce. It’s a delicious, low-carb alternative to a traditional cheeseburger with all the classic flavors in bowl form.

Ingredients

Scale

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 2 Tablespoons finely minced white onion (or dried minced onion)
  • 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Burger and Toppings

  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Chopped romaine lettuce
  • Freshly grated cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Sliced cherry tomatoes
  • Sliced dill pickles
  • Cooked potato wedges or French fries
  • Sliced red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle relish, minced onion, yellow mustard, paprika, and garlic powder until well combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate to let the flavors meld while you prepare the burger and toppings.
  2. Cook the Burger: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the diced white onion and ground beef. Cook the beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  3. Season the Beef: Reduce the heat to low and add salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder to the cooked beef. Stir well to combine and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes to let the flavors develop.
  4. Assemble the Cheeseburger Bowls: Divide the seasoned ground beef evenly among four medium-sized bowls. Add chopped romaine lettuce, a generous sprinkle of cheddar cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes, dill pickles, cooked potato wedges or French fries, and sliced red onion if using.
  5. Add the Sauce and Serve: Drizzle each bowl with the prepared Big Mac sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy the classic cheeseburger flavors without the bun.

Notes

  • You can substitute dried minced onion for fresh minced onion in the sauce if needed.
  • For a lower calorie meal, omit the potato wedges or fries or serve them on the side.
  • Use any favorite cheese such as American, mozzarella, or pepper jack instead of cheddar.
  • Customize the toppings to your preference by adding pickled jalapeños, avocado, or extra veggies.
  • Leftover sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
