Description

These Chicken and Waffle Sliders combine crispy breaded chicken wings with fluffy mini waffles, layered with savory bacon jam and drizzled with sweet maple syrup for a perfect sweet and savory appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Waffle and Toppings

  • 2 cups pancake and waffle mix
  • 4 teaspoons bacon jam
  • ¼ cup maple syrup

Chicken

  • 16 fully cooked breaded, boneless Chicken Wings (frozen)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Waffle Batter: Prepare pancake and waffle mix according to package directions, ensuring you follow the instructions for making waffles.
  2. Cook Mini Waffles: Heat a waffle bite maker and cook mini waffles until golden brown, producing about 32 mini waffles in total.
  3. Arrange Waffles: Remove the waffles from the maker and separate them into small circles. Place them on a large serving plate for assembly.
  4. Spread Bacon Jam: Spread ¼ teaspoon of bacon jam on 16 of the mini waffles to add a savory depth of flavor.
  5. Heat Chicken Wings: Heat the frozen fully cooked breaded boneless chicken wings as per package instructions. Preferred method is air frying for 4-5 minutes on each side until heated through and reaching 165°F internally.
  6. Assemble Sliders: Place a heated chicken wing on top of each jam-coated mini waffle, then top with another mini waffle without jam to create sliders.
  7. Secure Sliders: Insert a cocktail pick or long toothpick through each slider to hold them together firmly.
  8. Repeat Assembly: Repeat the assembly process with all remaining chicken and waffles until all sliders are made.
  9. Serve with Maple Syrup: Just before serving, drizzle the maple syrup evenly over all sliders, allowing some syrup to pool in the waffle indentations on top for added sweetness.

Notes

  • Use an air fryer for best and quickest heating of chicken wings to maintain crispiness.
  • If you don’t have a waffle bite maker, use a regular waffle iron and cut waffles into circles.
  • Bacon jam adds a savory complexity; substitute with regular bacon bits and a bit of jam if unavailable.
  • Serve immediately after drizzling maple syrup for best texture and taste.
  • Slider picks help keep these bite-sized treats intact and easy to serve at parties.
