Description

Delicious Chopped Cheeseburger Sliders featuring savory ground beef with onions, melted cheddar cheese, and classic burger toppings on soft slider buns. These sliders are baked to perfection with a buttery sesame seed topping, making them an easy and crowd-pleasing appetizer or meal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Slider Assembly

  • 12 slider buns
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese, halved

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard

Butter Topping

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
  2. Cook Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain off any excess fat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  3. Assemble Sliders: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the buns. Layer the halved cheddar cheese slices over the beef. Then cover with the remaining top halves of the buns.
  4. Brush and Bake: Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the buns are golden brown.
  5. Add Toppings: Remove the sliders from the oven. Lift the top buns carefully and spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the inside of the tops. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and pickles on top of the cheese-covered beef layer.
  6. Serve: Replace the top buns and serve the sliders immediately while warm for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • For juicier sliders, choose ground beef with at least 15% fat content.
  • You can customize toppings by adding pickled jalapeños or sliced onions for extra flavor.
  • Use different cheese varieties like American or pepper jack if desired.
  • Prepare the slider buns ahead of time by toasting them lightly to prevent sogginess.
  • For a spicier spread, mix some hot sauce into the mayonnaise before spreading.
  • Leftover sliders can be wrapped and refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat gently before serving.
