Description

This Easy Layered Christmas Jello recipe creates a festive and visually striking dessert perfect for holiday gatherings. Featuring vibrant layers of lime and cherry Jello separated by a creamy sweetened condensed milk gelatin layer, this no-bake treat combines bright flavors with a smooth texture. Topped with whipped cream and optional sugared berries or crushed graham crackers, it offers a refreshing and fun way to celebrate the season.

Ingredients

Scale

Green Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box lime Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

White Layer

  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Red Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box cherry Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Toppings (Optional)

  • Whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • Fresh cranberries or strawberries
  • Crushed graham cracker or gold sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Green Layer: Dissolve the lime Jello in 1 cup boiling water by stirring for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water and mix well. Pour the mixture into a 9×13-inch glass dish and refrigerate for about 1 hour or until set firmly.
  2. Make White Layer Mixture: While the green layer sets, dissolve 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add the sweetened condensed milk to the gelatin mixture and stir until smooth. Allow this mixture to cool to room temperature before the next step.
  3. Add White Layer: Once the green layer is firm, gently pour the cooled milk gelatin mixture over it, taking care not to disturb the set layer. Return the dish to the refrigerator and chill for 45 minutes to 1 hour until the white layer is set.
  4. Prepare Red Layer: Dissolve the cherry Jello in 1 cup boiling water, stirring well. Add 1 cup cold water and mix thoroughly. Let this mixture cool to room temperature to prevent melting the white layer. Then, gently spoon the cherry mixture over the white layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the red layer is fully set.
  5. Serve: Once completely set, slice the layered Jello into 12 squares. Top each square with whipped cream or Cool Whip, and garnish with sugared cranberries or strawberries and optional crushed graham crackers or gold sugar to add a festive touch before serving.

Notes

  • To prevent layers from mixing, ensure each layer is fully set and cool before adding the next.
  • Use a spoon held close to the surface when pouring the subsequent layers to keep the layers distinct.
  • For a more decorative appearance, use fresh berries and lightly crush graham crackers just before serving.
  • This dessert needs a minimum chilling time of about 4 hours to fully set all layers.
  • Can be prepared a day in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator.
