Ingredients

Scale

Jello Mixture

  • 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ยฝ cup cold water
  • ยฝ cup vodka

Garnish

  • 12 gummy eyeball candies

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, combine the strawberry gelatin powder with 1 cup of boiling water. Whisk thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved and smooth.
  2. Add Cold Water and Vodka: Stir in ยฝ cup of cold water and ยฝ cup of vodka to the gelatin mixture, blending well to combine.
  3. Pour into Cups: Arrange twelve 2-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to catch any spills. Carefully pour the strawberry mixture into each cup up to the fill line, leaving about 1/8 inch of space from the rim.
  4. Initial Chill and Add Eyeballs: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 1 to 1ยฝ hours, or until the jello shots are partially set but still somewhat firm. Then, gently place one gummy eyeball candy on top of each partially set jello shot.
  5. Final Chill: Return the tray to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 1ยฝ hours to overnight to allow the jello shots to fully set and firm up.
  6. Serve or Store: Once fully set, put lids on each jello shot cup and store them stacked in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use a rimmed tray when setting the jello shots to avoid spills in the refrigerator.
  • You can substitute vodka with any other clear liquor if preferred.
  • For non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with an equal amount of cold water.
  • Allow the jello shots to set completely for a firm texture that holds the gummy eyeball in place.
  • Store jello shots in the refrigerator and consume within 2-3 days for best taste and freshness.
