Description

These Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Yogurt Clusters are a refreshing and guilt-free frozen treat combining juicy strawberries, creamy vanilla Greek yogurt, and a rich chocolate coating. Perfect for a quick snack or a delightful dessert, they are easy to prepare and fun to enjoy straight from the freezer.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit & Dairy

  • 1 1/2 cups diced strawberries (about 250g after dicing)
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt or dairy free Greek yogurt (240g)

Sweeteners

  • 2 tbsp honey or pure maple syrup (optional if using sweetened yogurt)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (170g)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (12g) (optional for smoother chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base mixture: Line a baking sheet or large platter with wax or parchment paper to prevent sticking. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the diced strawberries, vanilla Greek yogurt, and honey or maple syrup until the ingredients are fully combined and evenly coated.
  2. Form clusters: Using a spoon, drop dollops of the strawberry yogurt mixture onto the prepared baking tray. Then gently spread each dollop into a patty-like shape to form clusters.
  3. Freeze the clusters: Place the tray with clusters in the freezer for at least three hours or preferably overnight, allowing them to freeze solid.
  4. Melt the chocolate: Carefully melt the chocolate chips either by microwaving in short bursts with stirring between or by using a double boiler method on the stovetop. For a smoother chocolate coating, stir in the optional coconut oil into the melted chocolate until fully combined.
  5. Coat the clusters: Remove the frozen yogurt clusters from the freezer and dip each one into the melted chocolate to coat thoroughly. Place the coated clusters back onto the lined baking sheet.
  6. Set the chocolate: Return the coated clusters to the freezer for a few minutes so the chocolate coating can harden and set properly.
  7. Serve and store: Enjoy the chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters cold directly from the freezer. Store any leftovers in a covered container in the freezer, where they will remain fresh for up to three months.

Notes

  • You can substitute dairy Greek yogurt with dairy-free yogurt for a vegan-friendly option.
  • If using sweetened yogurt, the additional honey or maple syrup can be omitted.
  • The coconut oil helps create a smoother chocolate coating but is optional.
  • Freeze clusters on a flat surface to maintain shape before chocolate dipping.
  • Store the clusters in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn and maintain freshness.
  • For easier chocolate melting, stir frequently when microwaving or keep heat low on the stove.
