Ingredients
Scale
Vegetables & Meat
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, finely diced
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 pound thinly sliced beef sirloin or shaved steak, chopped into small pieces
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Seasonings & Sauces
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Dairy & Cheese
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded white American cheese
Optional Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare the baking dish for the dip.
- Sauté Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion, green bell pepper, and chopped cremini mushrooms. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until they are softened and fragrant.
- Cook Beef: Add the chopped thinly sliced sirloin or shaved steak to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional minute to blend the flavors.
- Mix Creamy Ingredients: Reduce heat to low, then stir in the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Continue stirring until the mixture is melted, smooth, and fully combined.
- Add Half the Cheese: Stir in half of the shredded provolone, mozzarella, and white American cheeses until melted and well incorporated into the mixture.
- Prepare for Baking: Transfer the cheesy beef mixture to a greased baking dish, smoothing it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheeses evenly over the top.
- Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese topping is golden and melted.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with toasted bread, baguette slices, or crackers for dipping.
Notes
- For extra heat and flavor, add thinly sliced jalapeños or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sautéed vegetables.
- You can substitute ribeye steak in place of sirloin for a richer, more tender meat texture.
- This dip can be assembled ahead of time, covered, and refrigerated before baking to save time on the day of serving.
