Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease an 8ร8 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until all crumbs are evenly coated. Firmly press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a solid crust.
- Make the Filling: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, fresh lime juice, and lime zest until smooth and well blended.
- Assemble: Pour the lime filling over the crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula to create a uniform layer.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden and the filling is set and firm to the touch.
- Cool Down: Once baked, let the bars cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to fully set.
- Serve: Just before serving, dust the bars with powdered sugar for a sweet finishing touch.
Notes
- Use freshly squeezed lime juice and zest for the best flavor.
- Make sure the filling is fully set before cutting to avoid runny bars.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For easier slicing, chill the bars well and use a sharp knife wiped between cuts.
