Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1–2 lbs cheese ravioli (refrigerated or frozen)
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Ingredients
- 1 lb cooked ground beef or Italian sausage
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the lasagna layers evenly.
- Cook Ravioli: If using frozen ravioli, cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside to prevent excess moisture in the lasagna.
- Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a flavorful creamy layer.
- Assemble Baking Dish: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- First Layer: Arrange half of the cooked ravioli over the sauce evenly. Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the ravioli and spread gently to cover.
- Layer Cheese and Sauce: Add a generous layer of marinara sauce on top of the ricotta, then sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat by adding the remaining ravioli, followed by the rest of the ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and mozzarella to build the lasagna layers.
- Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil to trap moisture and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Finish Baking: Remove the foil and continue baking for 15–20 minutes until the cheese on top is bubbly and golden brown.
- Rest and Garnish: Allow the lasagna to rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional chopped fresh parsley to enhance presentation and flavor.
Notes
- For added protein and richness, you can include 1 lb of cooked ground beef or Italian sausage layered with the ravioli.
- Be careful not to overcook the ravioli during boiling to maintain texture after baking.
- Use fresh parsley for garnish to add a pop of color and fresh flavor.
- This dish can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking; just add extra baking time if baking from cold.
- Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave.
