Description

This Million Dollar Ravioli Lasagna is an easy and comforting layered pasta dish that combines cheesy ravioli with creamy ricotta, savory marinara, and melted mozzarella. Perfect for a family dinner, it mimics the flavors of classic lasagna without the hassle of making noodles from scratch, delivering a rich and indulgent meal in just over an hour.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 12 lbs cheese ravioli (refrigerated or frozen)
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked ground beef or Italian sausage

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the lasagna layers evenly.
  2. Cook Ravioli: If using frozen ravioli, cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside to prevent excess moisture in the lasagna.
  3. Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a flavorful creamy layer.
  4. Assemble Baking Dish: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
  5. First Layer: Arrange half of the cooked ravioli over the sauce evenly. Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the ravioli and spread gently to cover.
  6. Layer Cheese and Sauce: Add a generous layer of marinara sauce on top of the ricotta, then sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat Layers: Repeat by adding the remaining ravioli, followed by the rest of the ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and mozzarella to build the lasagna layers.
  8. Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil to trap moisture and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  9. Finish Baking: Remove the foil and continue baking for 15–20 minutes until the cheese on top is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Rest and Garnish: Allow the lasagna to rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional chopped fresh parsley to enhance presentation and flavor.

Notes

  • For added protein and richness, you can include 1 lb of cooked ground beef or Italian sausage layered with the ravioli.
  • Be careful not to overcook the ravioli during boiling to maintain texture after baking.
  • Use fresh parsley for garnish to add a pop of color and fresh flavor.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking; just add extra baking time if baking from cold.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave.
