Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Pepperoni Roll Ups featuring crescent roll dough filled with turkey pepperoni and string cheese, brushed with Italian-seasoned butter, and baked to golden perfection. Perfect as a snack or appetizer served with marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Filling

  • 1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 32 slices turkey pepperoni (Hormel’s or similar)
  • 4 pieces string cheese, cut in half

Seasoning and Topping

  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Serving

  • Marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it’s ready for baking the roll ups.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles. Lay them out with the large end facing you for easy filling.
  3. Add Filling: Arrange four slices of turkey pepperoni on the wide end of each crescent triangle. Top the pepperoni slices with one half piece of string cheese per triangle.
  4. Roll Up: Starting from the wide end with the pepperoni and cheese, carefully roll each triangle toward the pointed end, forming a tight roll.
  5. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled-up dough pieces on a lightly greased cookie sheet, making sure to space them at least 2 inches apart to allow for expansion during baking.
  6. Brush with Seasoned Butter: In a small bowl, mix the Italian seasoning with the melted butter. Using a pastry brush, gently brush this mixture over the tops of the roll ups to add flavor and help them brown beautifully.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls turn golden brown and are cooked through.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with marinara or pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey pepperoni with regular pepperoni or other preferred deli meats.
  • String cheese can be replaced with mozzarella sticks cut into similar sizes.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a little grated Parmesan on top before baking.
  • Make sure to space the roll ups well on the baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  • Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
