Ingredients
Scale
Base Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 (12-ounce) bag jumbo marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
- 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (divided)
Toppings
- 4 Hershey bars (broken into pieces)
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly butter it to prevent sticking.
- Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the salted butter. Add jumbo marshmallows and stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
- Add Vanilla and Cereals: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Immediately mix in the Rice Krispies cereal, Golden Grahams cereal, and 1 1/2 cups of the mini marshmallows until everything is evenly coated and combined.
- First Layer: Spread half of the cereal mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half of the broken Hershey bars and remaining mini marshmallows over this layer.
- Second Layer: Add the remaining cereal mixture on top, gently pressing without compacting too much to keep the treats airy. Finish by topping with the remaining Hershey bar pieces and mini marshmallows.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the entire dish to cool completely at room temperature so it sets properly. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Using parchment paper makes for easier removal and cleanup.
- Do not over-press the mixture when layering to keep the treats light and crispy.
- For a fun twist, you can add chopped nuts or substitute the Hershey bars with other chocolate favorites.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
