Ingredients
Scale
Base and Fruit Layers
- 2 boxes Vanilla Wafers
- 6–8 bananas, sliced
- 1 container strawberries, chopped (about 1 cup)
Pudding Mixture
- 2 cups milk
- 1 (5 oz.) box French Vanilla pudding mix
Cream Cheese Mixture
- 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed (or equal amount sweetened whipped cream)
Instructions
- Prepare the Base: Line a 13×9-inch dish with one box of Vanilla Wafers, arranging them evenly to form the base layer.
- Add Bananas: Spread the sliced bananas evenly over the layer of vanilla wafers to build the first fruit layer.
- Make the Pudding Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the 2 cups of milk and the box of French Vanilla pudding mix. Beat the mixture until it becomes smooth and thickened, indicating the pudding has set slightly.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk together until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined, maintaining a light and airy texture.
- Combine Mixtures: Mix the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture into the prepared pudding mixture, stirring gently until smooth and evenly combined.
- Assemble the Pudding: Pour the combined pudding mixture over the banana and vanilla wafer layer in the dish, spreading it evenly.
- Add Strawberries: Sprinkle the chopped strawberries evenly on top of the pudding layer to add a fresh, fruity touch.
- Top Layer: Finish by adding the second box of Vanilla Wafers as the top layer, arranging them neatly.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the assembled pudding for 2–3 hours until set. Serve chilled for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid browning quickly.
- For extra flavor, macerate strawberries with a teaspoon of sugar before adding.
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened to achieve a smooth mixture without lumps.
- Can be made a day in advance to allow flavors to meld perfectly.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
